Vinoble is pleased to import a range of Adelaide Hills wines Hong Kong. The region lies adjacent to the city of Adelaide in South Australia. The Mount Lofty Range runs to the east of Adelaide, going North-south for nearly 200 miles, with the Adelaide Hills being the closest to the town. It has some of the most moderate weather in all of Australia and is a neighbor to McLaren Vale, and the Barossa Valley, both of which are world-class wine regions and part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. The settler population here was originally Polish, German and Italian, which led to a preponderance of Riesling and other central European style viticulture, though French grapes have come to dominate the region today. The temperature variation between day and night time is essential for quality, balanced wine, and the Adelaide Hills regions have this strong advantage. The cooler weather gives white wine a boost here, and Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are the two most common plantings in the official Adelaide Hills wine region, followed by Pinot Noir. Adelaide Hills has been an official wine region (AGI) since 1998. Sub-regions include Lenswood and Piccadilly Valley. Lenswood is known for higher acid wines, as well as Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc, while the high altitude Piccadilly Valley makes it especially well-suited to sparkling wine in the style of Champagne! Such a gorgeous and accessible region is fairly attractive to wine tourists, and with so many regions to visit around the hills of Adelaide, who can blame them?
