The Glenfarclas Distillery was lawfully created in 1836 in the heart of Speyside. In 1865, the distillery was bought by John Grant. The history of Glenfarclas is colourful and vibrant as the whisky that bears its name. It's really a story of one Scottish family, the Grants, who since 1865 have been united in creating the Spirit of Independence. 200 years since the arrival of John Grant, remain dedicated to the rule of creating superior quality Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky, and his descendants continue to act as custodians of the Glenfarclas Distillery. Whilst you may not find Glenfarclas in every liquor store, the Distillery’s standing is renowned all over the world. In March 2006 Whisky Magazine named Glenfarclas Distiller of the Year for consistent quality, and staying true to its core values.
