Located Taiwan, in the western part Yilan county, in the town of Yuanshan, its fresh air and pure water make it an ideal place for production of premium Whisky. It all started in 2005 when the Kavalan distillery was established by Taiwanese industrial and manufacturing giant, the King Car Group. It was the realization of a dream for King Car Group founder, Mr Lee Tien-Tsai, who had set about building a world-class distillery, and hiring the best people, including specialist Dr Jim Swan and master blender Ian Chang. Kavalan features a range of 19 different Whiskies, across the Kavalan Series, the Soloist Series and Premium Series. Already known by Whisky Connoisseurs around the world for its excellent quality, Kavalan really hit the world stage in 2015, when the industry-leading World Whiskies Awards named Kavalan's Vinho Barrique as the World's Best Single Malt Whisky. Since then there has been huge interest in their whiskies, which have become more and more difficult to find.
