Vinoble is proud to list the wines of Hugel Hong Kong. Hugel is one of the oldest Alsace houses and one of the best known. Incredibly the family company has made wine in Riquewihr as far back as 1639. With extensive vineyard holdings of some 127 hectares (including grands crus Sporen and Schoenenbourg), Hugel also functions as a négociant buying grapes from other respected growers. The late Johnny Hugel was among the most influential winemakers in Alsace, not just championing Alsace locally and abroad, but also helping to invent significant protection for the appellation. It was he who got official seal of acceptance for late-harvest vendange tardive and Sélection de Grains Nobles designations. Under the thoughtful management of Johnny's nephews, Marc and the sadly missed Etienne, who passed away abruptly and much too young in April 2016, the business remained in safe hands, and a younger generation is closely included in this fantastic family heritage.
